History Night: The 1870 National Camp Meeting

Join us for the Zoom edition of History Night!

This year is the 150th anniversary of a unique and little-known assembly at Asbury Grove. In June 1870, Grove leadership worked with a relatively new Methodist ministerial group called the "National Camp Meeting Association" to host a 10-day series of meetings in Hamilton.
The occasion brought in participants from around the Northeast and newspaper reporters from as far away as New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. Their detailed first-hand reports gave fresh perspective to what Asbury Grove and the historical Holiness movement were all about.

One of our Historical Society members, Stan Flewelling, has been researching these accounts, and will be presenting an illustrated version via Zoom.
